Practice the putts that save rounds: 10-15 footers
John Daly recounts the year he dedicated himself to putting practice and became the number one putter on the PGA Tour. The putts he says mattered were not the short ones but the 10- and 15-footers you have to make when you are going to win, plus the par saves after a bad chip, because pars keep a round's momentum going. He says he hit more practice putts that year than he can count.
