Pick two aim spots: one for line, one for speed

The coach's putting routine uses two spots: one that accommodates the line, which you set the face down to, and a second spot that dictates your speed, where your eyes go. On a downhill putt is the only time he picks the speed spot short of the hole.

Try it

  1. Pick a spot that accommodates the line and put that face down to the spot.
  2. Pick the other spot that dictates your speed; your eyes go up to it.
  3. On a downhill putt, and only then, look for a speed spot that is short of the hole.
