Release 2: the soft landing shot
For the soft landing shot (release two), when you need the ball to stop quickly, first check you have a green-light lie with grass under the ball. Rather than pinching down, lay the bounce behind the ball and slide it under to create a soft flight. Set up with a lower, more-angled lead wrist, ball just inside the lead heel, a slightly wider stance and flared front foot, weight still forward but not as stacked as the chip and run.
