Descent angle, not spin, is what stops the ball

The instructor corrects a common iron-fitting misconception: spin is not what stops the ball on the green. He demonstrates by analogy - a ball thrown with heavy spin still checks and then rolls out, whereas a ball thrown high drops and stops. It is the vertical nature of the ball's descent that stops it, and the same principle applies to iron shots.
