Use shaft length to tune angle of attack and strike

In a comparison of club lengths, the instructor explains how shaft length changes angle of attack and where you strike the face. Shorter clubs deliver a steeper angle of attack; longer clubs let the club bottom out earlier and rise up. If you live high on the face and want the club to bottom out earlier and rise, go a little longer; if you want the club working down into impact and to strike higher up the head, go shorter.
