Feel a heel strike to fix toe misses with an open face

In this fitting, opening deflection showed putts striking the toe even though the golfer aligned to the middle; the instructor suggested feeling as though the strike lands marginally toward the heel. Their reasoning: with a 0.75-degree open face, a dead-center strike still holes the putt, but the same open face struck half an inch toward the toe deflects enough to miss, while a heel strike can instead counteract an open face.
