Judge wedges by design, not by forged-versus-cast alone
The speaker says forged is often perceived as higher quality, but early Cleveland wedges used soft 8620 mild carbon steel that testers had a hard time telling apart from forgings. The speaker says casting gives designers freedom that forgings would be tricky to match, and that the team would switch to forging if it were genuinely the better path, but casting has been successful enough that they keep going with it.
