Mallet vs blade on off-center strikes

The instructor explains that on an off-center heel strike a mallet deflects more than a blade because its centre of gravity is far back, but it keeps the ball's speed so it still gets to the hole. A blade mishit stays straighter but loses speed. The net result is that the mallet finishes closer to the hole, though a little more offline.
