The braking system: stop the body so arms speed up

He calls deceleration the braking system and considers it one of the most undertaught things in golf. In the downswing the pelvis and torso reach top speed and start slowing before impact, and from there the arms, hands and shoulders produce the speed. Because you cannot consciously speed the arms up, he says you have to learn to slow and stop the bigger body so the arms can do their work; many players move the body too much and never let the arms produce speed.
