Press trail hand onto lead thumb for automatic wrist hinge

SagutoGolf calls this the most important part of the grip: the trail hand should press actively on top of the lead-hand thumb (for a right-handed player, the right hand sits on top of the left thumb). Keeping pressure on that contact - what he calls a 'vital pressure point' - hinges the wrists automatically. Golfers who lack it must hinge the wrists consciously, a variable in where and when the hinge happens, whereas the secure pressure point delivers wrist hinge and more backswing power.

Why this context matters

The coach singles this out as the single most important point in the video.
