Move the sternum forward to shift your low point
The center of your body corresponds to the low point of the strike. If you have been struggling with contact, move your center point forward a little further; that is an upper-body move of the sternum, and it shifts the low point toward the target so you make good quality contact instead of chunking it. Off a scruffy lie the instructor says this is exactly what he would do.
