Seated chair twist to build torso rotation

A seated stretch to build the torso rotation needed for separation. Sit on the edge of a chair, upright and tall, place a golf club across your shoulders or shoulder blades (not your neck), keep your feet together and squeeze your knees together as if holding a coin between them, then rotate right and left. Gauge how far you turn (a mirror helps) and aim for at least 45 degrees.

Try it

  1. Grab a chair and sit on the edge of the chair, upright, and sit nice and tall
  2. Grab a golf club and put it behind your shoulders, on your shoulder blade or on your shoulders, not on your neck
  3. Make sure your feet are together and squeeze your knees together, like there's a coin in between your knees
  4. Rotate: turn right and then turn left, and gauge how much you turn
  5. We want at least 45 degrees
