Prioritize square face and dynamic loft over forward roll

The instructor says forward rotation is nice to have, but it isn't the priority; the goal is as square a face as possible with the right amount of dynamic loft to produce correct launch. They explain that a putt launching into the ground, especially on slow greens, loses significant energy plowing through the grass in the first few feet, while lifting the ball with some forward rotation instead lets it roll out much more smoothly toward the hole.
