Compare driving iron and hybrid clubface control

The instructor explains the benefit of a driving iron over a hybrid for many players: its slightly shorter shaft lets you be a fraction steeper, which gives a little more clubface control. The shallower you get, the more the clubface tends to stop moving and start rotating, so the ball can get more off-line. A hybrid is generally shallower and swung on a flatter plane, raising the chance of a slightly different flight.
