Train grip strength to unlock swing speed
The coach relays advice he attributes to Bryson, who was asked what one thing he'd do for more power and distance: work on grip strength. The reasoning given is that with weaker hands you have to squeeze the club harder just to hold it, while with stronger hands you don't have to squeeze until the moment of impact. If you can't hold the club at a given speed, your brain will not let you swing harder even if you physically could, so strong hands give the brain a green light to swing harder while still holding on.
