Add distance with a strong-grip release drill
The speaker gives the drill he says he gives every student: set your lead thumb on the trail side of the club, point your lead elbow as far right of the target as possible, and get the handle forward. From there let the club head sit slightly inside and keep it behind the handle as long as you can, then throw it out to where your lead elbow was pointing at address.
