No-wrist, around-the-body half-swing drill
As a first drill, the coach has you hit short pitch/chip-length shots with quiet, 'dead-wristed' hands and no wrist hinge, going back about halfway and through halfway. Instead of lifting the arms up and chopping down, you take the club back behind you and around your body and turn through into the shot. He frames the goal as a more direct, powerful move.

- take the club back without using your wrists
- only going back about halfway, and going through, halfway, really short pitch chip shots
- dead-wristed, no wrists, taking club more back behind us, around our body
