Ruler drill for short-putt face control
Missing short putts usually comes from losing control of the face through the stroke. Using a ruler, set up and roll the ball so it starts down the ruler; if it does, you have controlled the face to within plus or minus half a degree. From 10 feet you can be a full degree off and still hole it, so half a degree leaves you well inside the margin.
