Avoid chasing a lower-lofted driver

The instructor recounts chasing a lower-lofted driver — turning an eight-degree head down to seven, which still launched at 16 with a positive angle of attack, but only by throwing his hands at it — and then seeing terrible ball-striking show up in his irons. His takeaway: a lower-lofted driver gives less spin and more ball speed, which sounds great until it starts ruining your swing, so he switched to a 10.5-degree driver and keeps everything forward and present for more consistency.
