Play the soft landing shot with a super light grip

For the soft landing shot (release two) on firmer greens, move the ball position toward the left heel, popped forward in the stance, with no shaft lean and the shaft straight in line with the back of the ball. Then grip it super light and relaxed: the lighter you hold it, the more the club swings on its own momentum, which is what makes the ball hang in the air. Gripping tight kills the height.
