Spot-putt big breakers to a spot, let the green carry it
On long putts with a big slope in the middle, the speaker looks for the spot where the green itself will begin rolling the ball, then putts the ball up to that spot and lets the green take it from there. He calls this 'spot putting' — sending the ball to a chosen spot and letting the green do the rest rather than rolling it all the way himself.
