Land pitches with check then a last roll at putt pace

The speaker's take on pitching: the best pitchers they've seen don't land it so it slams on the brakes and stops. They hit it with some check and then it has one last little roll out toward the hole. They say if the ball is running toward the hole at the pace a putt would roll, that's your best opportunity to hole the chip.
