Keep the putt low so it hugs the ground for true roll
The instructor explains that keeping the ball in contact with the ground for as long as possible is how you get it to true roll sooner, which is why launch angle matters in putting. If the ball launches four or five degrees it becomes airborne, losing ground contact, and the friction between ball and surface is then far greater than any putter-and-ball friction.
