Understand why irons produce little gear effect

The instructor explains that an iron's center of mass sits close to the face, leaving little leverage for the head to rotate, so gear effect is minor except at very high (tour-level) club speed and lower loft. They add that irons also produce more backspin, which counters the spin-axis tilt that would otherwise curve the shot.
