Turn a 50 into 56 degrees instead of opening a 60

The instructor says many golfers take their most lofted wedge and open it up to 65 or 66 degrees of loft in a bunker, which then never hits hard enough or has to be struck so precisely that it makes the shot really difficult. For him, turning a 50-degree into 55 or 56 degrees is a far more efficient way of guaranteeing the strike, and the ball comes out with a slightly better strike.
