Use less loft to run it up wet greens into upslopes

Playing a long shot up into a pin over an upslope, the instructor chooses a lower-lofted club to avoid creating spin. He warns that most golfers use too much loft, and the spin into the upslope makes the ball die and finish about 20 feet short — he reckons 80% of golfers would leave it short there. The key is to match the ball's spin to the slope and the green condition.
