Keep a swing change only if it works immediately
The instructor argues a swing change should show up almost immediately: if you can't do it consistently and quickly on the range and it doesn't implement within two or three balls, he doubts it will hold up on the course. He contrasts this with a change like adding extension, which he says can take months and months of training just to get a little more.
