Flatten the lie angle to offset a left-crossing curve

The instructor explains that a flatter lie angle tilts the clubface more to the right, which makes the ball start a little further right. For a shot whose curvature would otherwise cross the line and end up left of target, this lets the curve finish on line instead. He frames it as a way to offset the start line for a player who curves the ball right-to-left.
