Treat counterbalancing as player-specific
The instructor describes counterbalancing as a fitting tool for a golfer who feels a club is a little head-heavy or is struggling to get the head to catch up and square up at impact. They are reluctant to say counterbalance does any one thing: they have heard people claim it takes away a hook and others claim it helps the head catch up in the handle, but they say the reality is that for two different people it will do different things.
