Find your putter length with the ball-drop eye test
Length is the first checkpoint in a putter fitting, and the speaker sets it by where your eyes fall relative to the ball. Get into a comfortable stance to the target, then drop a golf ball from between your eyes and see where it lands; if it drops immediately onto or behind the ball you are stacked in a good position. He wants the eye line over the ball or slightly inside, feet shoulder-width apart, and the arms hanging naturally from the sides.

- you want to take a golf ball and drop it from between your two eyes and see where that lands
- you drop it from the centre of your eyes, immediately onto the golf club, behind it or on top of the golf ball
- That way you know that you're stacked and in a good position
