Torque is a feel, not what sends the ball offline
The instructor explains that shaft torque does not actually push the ball offline at impact, because impact lasts only about four ten-thousandths of a second, faster than the blink of an eye, and the ball leaves the face before torque can influence it. You will feel torque, but he characterizes its effect as very much a feel thing rather than a ball-flight change.
