Do the seated A-frame opener to mobilize the hips
A seated warm-up mobility exercise the instructor calls a seated A-frame opener, built on a wide 'asian squat' stance with the heels on the ground. You press the knees out with your hands on the ground, then raise up toward the ceiling while applying pressure down through the ground and following your fingertips with your eyes. The instructor says it mobilizes the hips and the thoracic spine, and that you will feel activation through the glutes and quads.
