Avoid the 60 wedge off an upslope

An upslope acts like a launch pad. The instructor warns that going to something like a 60 off an upslope is a recipe for disaster, especially a low-bounce 60, because it becomes difficult to work with the slope. He uses a 56 on quick greens and would drop to a 52 on softer greens; his rule of thumb is to reach for your second or third most lofty club, such as a 52 or 54.

Why this context matters

Green firmness drives the exact loft: 56 on quick greens, 52 if softer.
