Use a squeeze aid for pressure

With this training aid, the recommendation is to put it on from the butt end first. The larger surface area gives the golfer something to push pressure against before curling the fingertips around it. The point is to learn concentrated pressure with the notches and pinky pads, not just gripping it the ordinary way.
