Separate upper and lower body to hold backswing angles
The instructor explains upper-lower body separation: being able to rotate your pelvis without moving your upper body, and to keep the upper body still while just turning the torso. She notes that without this separation you can't get into the 45-degree and 90-degree angles in your backswing, so your posture gets out of its angles as you complete the backswing.
