Putter weight follows a bell curve for squaring the face
The speaker finds that building the same putter to progressively heavier weights produces a bell curve: when it is too light the player can't square the face, there is a weight at which they can square it, and when it gets too heavy they lose it again. He frames the goal as the weight at which the player can square the putter.
