Hinge the driver later and more gradually than the irons

The 7-iron is shorter and lighter, so it is easier to control and hinge. The driver is the longest and heaviest club, and trying to hinge it the same way as a 7-iron makes you use hand strength and end up lifting and picking it up. With the driver the instructor hinges a lot later in the backswing and a lot more gradually.
