Understand why irons outrun specialist wedges

The instructor explains that specialist wedges sometimes do not keep up with a modern iron set on distance. Because irons are designed with distance in mind and wedges are not, you can end up with a distance gap between the pitching wedge and the next wedge even when the loft progression looks correct - the head design, not the lofts, causes it.
