Match cupping to the grip
Saguto says a strong-grip player who wants straight, high, normal shots has to return to impact with a similar look: hands a little ahead while retaining some cupping. He uses Fred Couples and Rory McIlroy as examples of players who keep some wrist cup at the top because, with their address relationship, that can be a square face. His checkpoint is to look at the relationship of the grip to the top of the backswing and ask whether it is keeping the face square.
