Make a deeper, not flat, shoulder turn to free the hands
Getting the club outside or covering the hands at the eight-to-nine o'clock position lets you make a steeper, deeper shoulder turn rather than a flat one. That deeper turn creates space to drop the hands down and keep them much more in front of the body.
