Practice short game with the 50-feet-in-the-bank game

To rebuild competitive pressure in practice, the instructor plays a scoring game: nine varied short-game shots (pitch, bunker, soft landing, chip) around one area, starting with 50 feet 'in the bank.' Each shot's distance from the hole is subtracted from the bank (hit it to five feet, you've got 45 left), so the pressure adds up as you go and you try to finish with feet to spare.

Why this context matters

He later notes: finish with 12 feet left, then next time start from 38 to keep raising the pressure.
