Finish out short putts instead of waiting
The coach notes the trouble with three-footers is that you're usually waiting to hit them. One strategy he used when he was younger: if he wasn't impeding anybody else's line or through line and wasn't standing where they'd be putting, he finished the short putt out rather than sitting and waiting five or six minutes for the group to hole out - hitting it casually, like he was just marking it, then stepping back.
