Pre-set a slight forward shaft lean at address

Rather than trying to create shaft lean in the swing, start with it at address: set the club with only a slight lean of the shaft opposite the inside of your lead leg, sternum over the ball, and the lead handle on the inside of your lead thigh. This puts you in a position to strike the ball first from the setup.
