Angle a bag to train an inside strike path

Place a bag so the ball sits just beyond its back end, then angle the bag out to the right to train an attack on the inside half of the ball. The instructor contrasts this with taking the club across the bag toward the outside half, which he identifies as an over-the-top path.

Try it

  1. Place the bag back and create an angle.
  2. Position the golf ball just on the back end of the bag.
  3. Angle the bag a little bit out to the right.
  4. Attack the inside half of the golf ball.

Why this context matters

The bag substitutes for a larger semicircular swing-path training aid.
