Strike wedges low in the middle of the face
The best players strike wedges in the middle of the face, and specifically on the lower side of the middle, down toward the front edge. Adding too much shaft lean raises the strike point on the face and produces a higher flight; because amateurs often have the ball sitting up in grass, the strike tends to move higher up the face. Being aware of where you strike the face lets you hit cleaner wedges and keep the trajectory coming out of a consistent window.
