Play the shot you can execute, not the one you should

On the course, the speaker frames each shot as a time to get from point A to point B in as few strokes as possible rather than to look fancy or flashy. He wants players to hit the shot they know they can execute - even if that means aiming up the left and playing a fade bordering on a slice - instead of the shot they think they should be able to hit.
