Read your chip's roll out like a putt
Golfers carefully read break when putting but often ignore what a chip does once it lands, so a perfectly struck chip can miss the break and leave six feet. Pay attention to what the ball does on the green: picture where you want it to land and where the first bounce will be, then read the roll-out from there like you would a putt.
