Tuck the trail arm into your ribs for crisp chips
The speaker's fix for flipping and scooping chips is to take the trail (right) arm out of play - bend it and glue it into the rib cage so it never lengthens - and let the straight lead arm and the shoulders control the stroke. He explains that trying to keep both arms straight makes the arms fight, with the trail arm taking over and no longer supporting the lead arm, which causes flipping and scooping. Keeping the trail arm tucked, he says, gives consistent, crisp contact.
