Pick a landing spot and paint the picture before chipping
To fix guessed distances, the instructor has the student make a practice swing while staring at a specific landing spot to 'paint the picture', then let his eyes track from that landing spot to the hole. Committing to a precise landing spot pre-shot lets the mind instinctively see the shot. He credits the 'painting the picture' idea to Tiger.
