Draw a long bunker shot for extra spin up a shelf

For an advanced long bunker shot that needs spin to work up a shelf, use a 52-degree wedge and a draw feel. Aim slightly right of the pin with a somewhat squarer face, release the club to about belt-buckle position, and work the toe over. The intended feel works the sand forward.

Try it

  1. Aim a little to the right of the pin with a slightly squarer face
  2. Still release the club to a release-two position at the belt buckle
  3. Work the toe over through impact to work the sand more forward and draw it

Why this context matters

Advanced long-bunker option when you need spin to work the ball up a shelf or hold a quick green.
